Sarah Senior Portraits {Cottage Grove, Oregon Senior Portrait Photographer}

Sarah is an incoming senior at Cottage Grove High School. We had a great session at The Village Green with her family and one of her friends along to help make her laugh. I know Sarah has great taste, because most of the pictures below that she chose as her favorites were also my favorites!

This picture is completely different from my normal style, but I love it. I was experimenting with some uplighting around the fountain and the final product didn’t quite turn out how I had envisioned it, but this treatment seemed perfect. I am not a big fan of using a lot of heavy PhotoShop actions or any editing that looks unnatural, but this vintage look was just what this image needed!

Thanks for a great session, Sarah!

Three on Thursday {Cottage Grove, Oregon Photographer}

1) Last week I said we were going to the Oregon Zoo with Paige on Tuesday… well, I had hoped to be able to share pictures this week, but plans changed and we ended up having to stay home and wait for UPS to bring a very special package… so we will be going to the zoo next Thursday instead.

2) So, you might be wondering what package was so important that we had to stay home from the zoo to wait for it…

3) We harvested about 125 strawberries from our garden on Tuesday & Wednesday, and then spent Wednesday afternoon making strawberry freezer jam, strawberry sauce, and strawberry fruit leather.

We began with just short of 8 cups of cut up strawberries.

After about 30 minutes of stirring, the strawberries were ready to be made into freezer jam, strawberry sauce, and strawberry fruit leather.

Our finished products…except for the fruit leather – it was only about half done baking at this point, but we had to take it out so we could make dinner. It didn’t finish drying, even after being left out overnight, so this morning, David put it back in the oven. Either the oven was too hot, or it stayed in too long, because when we took it out, it had crystallized instead of just drying out. So, it’s not exactly fruit leather anymore…

1) We have been busy around here lately! Since we run a home studio, we decided it was about time we finish re-landscaping our front yard so it looks decent when clients drive up. We tore out everything that was left in the flower bed along the front of the house and planted a couple of new things. It is still a work in progress, but it is looking so much better already! I’ll show off a picture when we have a little more progress made.

2) Paige has finally learned in the last couple of weeks that she can put herself to sleep for naps and bedtime! No more spending 30 minutes (or more!) sitting on the floor next to her crib trying to coax her to sleep. I have so much more time in my day now!

3) I am super excited to take Paige to the Oregon Zoo in Portland next week! The second Tuesday of the month, they offer a huge discount on admission, so the three of us can visit the zoo for only $8.00! I’m sure I will have plenty of pictures to share when we get back!
