Mother’s Day Gift ~ {Cottage Grove, Oregon Family Portrait Photographer}

As a Mother’s Day gift, these three siblings got together to have a few portraits done for their mom (at her request!). We went to the Village Green Resort and Gardens just as the flowers and trees were beginning to bloom. We also spent a little time in downtown Cottage Grove. One of my favorite locations in downtown to use for portraits is the Cottage Grove Armory. If you are familiar with the building, you know that it is not in the greatest shape, and the city has recently purchased the building and is hoping to restore it to it’s former glory. If you are interested in helping to raise money for the restoration, you can vote for the Cottage Grove Armory here.

Twin Newborn Portraits ~ Cottage Grove, Oregon Newborn Portrait Photographer

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to photograph two very adorable newborn twin boys. They were very hungry and didn’t want to stay asleep, but we did manage to get a few good portraits of each of the boys individually and a few of them together. Here are some of my favorites from our session.

Love the one where one is sleeping on the others back. Too cute.

We’ve had a makeover!

If you don’t follow Kim Larsen Photography on Facebook, you might have wondered if you typed in the wrong address when you saw the new page today.  A little different from our old look, huh?  When I started this business almost 5 years ago, my style was a bit different than it is today.  That old look just wasn’t working for me anymore, and I really wanted a new, cohesive look for my business that reflected my style.  I agonized for months (seriously, MONTHS!) about finding just the right look, and all that time it was right in front of me…

This is one of my favorite of Paige’s outfits, and it hit me while doing laundry that this was what I wanted for my new branding.  So, I sent a picture of the shirt off to my favorite digital paper designer, Terry at Sassy Designs and had her make me a set of custom papers based on the design and colors from the shirt.  She created her own version of the shirt pattern and added in several other complimentary papers (keeping just a hint of my old dark red as an accent) to create exactly what I was looking for.

For anyone wondering about the diaper in the picture, that is a diaper cover from my favorite diaper company, gDiapers.  They are a hybrid diaper that can use either cloth or disposable/flushable/biodegradable inserts.  We use mainly cloth, but the disposable inserts are great for traveling, and the diapers are so cute!
