It’s been another crazy week around our house! David went back to work last week and has already put in a 10 hour day yesterday and then went back at 6:30 this morning to make sure everything was set up and ready to go for the welcome back assembly this morning. Paige and I have been at the school every day for one reason or another, and it will probably continue that way for a while. After getting to be home with both of us all day every day for the whole summer, she can’t handle Daddy being gone at work all day. She is constantly checking the office to see if he is in there so she can give him a high five. It’s going to be a bit of a transition for her, especially now that the kids are back at school and we can’t just pop in to see him whenever we want.
We’ve been making progress on the fireplace removal project. Since the last post, we have repaired the floor, put up drywall in the living room (still need to tape & mud), built the entire built-in unit and put it in place. I took pictures of the floor when it was half finished, but forgot to take pictures of the finished product, so I’ll have to post floor pictures another time, but here is a shot of what the wall looks like now.
Paige has been so interested in “helping” that we had to go out and buy her some tools of her own. For now, we just got her a little hammer and wrench, but I’m sure she will be getting more tools to add to her collection for Christmas & her birthday. (That would be a hint for the grandpas…)
And with that, I hear Paige waking up from her nap so it’s time to take Daddy his lunch.
